Operation
Turkic Council’s main decisive body is the Council of Heads of States which is chaired by the country assuming the Chairmanship-in-office (rotation according to the alphabetical order). The current chairman is the Republic of Kazakhstan. The activities of the Turkic Council are coordinated and supported by its Secretariat located in Istanbul.

Turkic Council also functions as an umbrella organization for existing cooperation mechanisms such as the Parliamentary Assembly of the Turkic Speaking Countries (TURKPA), the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) and Turkic Business Council.
