Turkic Council Deputy Secretary General Dr. Ömer Kocaman attended the First annual TRT World Forum.

Turkic Council Deputy Secretary General Dr. Ömer Kocaman attended the First annual TRT World Forum under the theme “Inspiring Change in an Age of Uncertainty” held on 18-19 October 2017 in Istanbul.
 
In the first day, the Forum was opened by Mr. İbrahim Eren, the General Manager of TRT, and by Mr. Bekir Bozdağ, the Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey. Mr. Binali Yıldırım, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey, was the keynote speaker at the Forum. During their speech, the speakers examined and debated on nowadays global order and influence of the emerging powers like China, India, Brazil and Turkey on reshaping the established global order.
 
Mr. Mevlut Cavusoglu, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, and Mr. Jose Luis Rodriguez Zapatero, the Former Prime Minister of Spain, were keynote speakers at the second day of the session, where the speakers debated on long-term solutions for humanitarian challenges, with a particular focus on the Syrian crisis.
 
In total, TRT World Forum is hosting 400 guests, including scholars, politicians, journalists, international organizations as well as NGO representatives and other members of civil society.
 
Project Director of the Turkic Council Yedil Myrzakhanov accompanied the Deputy Secretary General during the Forum.
