Secretary General of the Turkic Council met with the Vice President of the Republic of Turkey
During the meeting, the Secretary General informed the Vice President regarding the activities of the Turkic Council as well as prospective plans and projects of the Secretariat in the upcoming period.
In this context, the Secretary General presented “Turkic Council Strategy for 2020-2025 and Turkic World Vision-2040” document to the Vice President, which was prepared by the Secretariat based on the relevant decision of the Heads of Turkic States during the 2019 Baku Summit.
Secretary General stated that the Turkic world and the Member States emerged stronger with the important achievements in the last couple of years; first and foremost the liberation of Azerbaijani lands from the occupation and underlined the importance of expanding the cooperation.in the framework of the Turkic Council.
B. Amreyev further informed the Vice President on the preparations of the Informal Summit of the Turkic Council in Turkistan as well as the 8th Summit in Istanbul planned to be held in 2021.
Vice President Oktay stated that “Turkic Council Strategy 2020-2025 and Turkic World Vision-2040” document will be an important roadmap for the deeper cooperation within the Turkic World and will present a framework for the future relations among the Member States in various fields.
Underlining the important role played by the Turkic Council during the past years, Vice President Oktay indicated that the Secretariat should preserve and carry forward the momentum gained within the Turkic world and continue its crucial role in increasing solidarity and cooperation among the Member States.
The Vice President and the Secretary General also exchanged views on number of pressing issues of the international and regional political affairs.
