Pursuant to the decisions of the Heads of States taken at the Turkic Council Summit in Astana, the Turkic Council has engaged in cooperation in the area of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT). 2 Meetings of the Ministers in charge of ICT and 3 meetings of the Working Group on ICT took place so far.
Minister of Transport, Maritime Affairs and Communications of Turkey Ahmet Arslan, Minister of Transport, Communications and High Technologies of Azerbaijan Ramin Guluzade, Deputy Minister of the Committee of Information Technology and Communications of Kyrgyzstan Abdysamat Sagymbayev, Deputy Chairman of the Committee for Public Control of Communication, Informatization and Mass Media under Ministry of ICT of Kazakhstan Vitaliy Yaroshenko attended the last ministerial meeting, which was held on 9 November 2017 in Istanbul.
At the meeting, the Member States agreed on the organization of a special Business Forum in charge of ICT with the participation of leading national software/hardware developers designated by the Member States. Also, the Parties decided to consider preparation of a draft quadrilateral Memorandum of Understanding which will pave the way for an agreement on cooperation in the sphere of e-government.
